“I got a new set of intense experiences from the ceremony itself, which will take more time to process. Broadly speaking, they relate to being willing to take the risk to deeply connect with another.
I learned how much I have already changed and integrated new experiences and attitudes since my first retreat. It was a healthy exercise in noticing and acknowledging (or having acknowledged by others) the cumulative effect of the gradual, daily changes which I have been making but that are easily overlooked.
Finally, even without the ceremony, I learned so much again simply from being in the company of fellow participants, facilitators and volunteers.”
